They believe that at their age to be toothless - it is the norm. We also know what dental implants can change the lives of these people and make them normal. The only way to completely toothless man is implanted. Other way to return the quality of life for him there, but unfortunately this is known only to implantology. And we talk about it only at its conferences and forums with the hope that we have someone hears, and that we get the new, approved at the European or world level, the standards of rehabilitation toothless man. But we do not hear. Not heard nor those who suffer, nor those who make decisions. They are in our conference do not go!
that people know a dental implant? In the media space dentists are very few. People other than toothpaste and creams to keep the prosthesis nothing more do not see on TV! And if they see something to understand that the implantation - a Hollywood smile, and then for very wealthy people!
aware of the fact that our society, no people, no power, never heard that dental implants was originally conceived as a way of rehabilitation of edentulous people, we initiated a trade union movement to free the implantation for the elderly called "quality of life for our parents."
400 doctors of volunteers across the country over the years have established about 1000 implants vulnerable people aged over 80 years. Private Free Clinic produced permanent non-removable dentures. Our most elderly patient - 93 years.

Our assumptions about the low awareness of people have been confirmed. All patients were informed about the forthcoming operation and, as we seemed to have complete picture of the expected results. However, the operation in total declined to about 100 patients. Some patients are refused when they learned that implantation - a surgical intervention, while others, when we learned that for this you need to stay in hospital. We can say that all other our patients were volunteers, for agreeing to an operation, they agreed to an unknown named procedure with unknown results. Anyway, no one of our patients, nor those who have agreed to, nor those who are abandoned, never to implantation had never heard of.
To be eligible to operate in another medical facility doctors have provided all necessary documents (copies of diplomas, certificates or orthopedic surgeon). For the first time, doctors who work in public, private, military and academic institutions about once a month would get together in different cities in the territory of the military or civilian hospitals and throughout the day established from 100 to almost 300 implants. Worked together surgeons, orthopedists, anesthesiologists, nurses and staff hospitals. Companies producing implants have become our partners and were given free implants to their clients - the doctors who participated in the rally. All implants were certified.
All patients have made the necessary investigations, such as ortopantomogramma, blood tests and fluorography. All patients were carefully selected, received consent for surgery from the specialists hospital, were admitted to hospital which were under medical supervision for five days (two days before surgery and three days after).
In all the cities share is always held as a military operation, because all the volunteers had never worked together and had never seen the medical institution where they had work. All visitors, participants were divided into teams. Each team consisted of four people - a surgeon, a podiatrist and two assistants. During the Events worked Logistics Center, where participants receive the necessary information. Everyone knew their job (location changing, operating, or orthopedic cabinet), as well as information about where this time is his patient. The surgeon received the patient's medical record and evaluate the X-ray image 15-30 minutes before surgery. One surgeon operated on a day not more than three patients.

It should be noted that the first sensation of this action were different doctors - at first incomprehensible, careful with the elements of caution, and then the true fun, unusual feeling of normality. And the fun is not only a sense of professional complexity, and the fact that it is a social responsibility and involvement in charity, because the doctors as a professional community, as a rule, are not involved in charitable, social responsible projects.

All completed work were presented at the stands during the 5-one Eastern Conference, held in Lviv on March 10-12, 20,011 years. Company Quintessence gave a special prize for the best work for a surgeon and a podiatrist.

Of course, we can not substitute for government programs, but our actions, we can draw attention to the issue of public and power and as a result introduce the world the standards are both waiting for our people. Yes, and the role of professional associations - is not necessarily only those of its members and the conference, this social activity of its members, which makes the association more lively, less formal, allows the exchange of experiences, their forces, promotes and lobbies for the introduction of new, including social standards.
I must say that our project is supported in other countries. In particular the first phase of the action took place in Warsaw (Poland), May 9 event will be held in Sofia (Bulgaria), and 15 October in Tbilisi (Georgia).
Welcome to Kiev May 26-27, 2011, where on the basis of the military hospital, we plan to one day operate on 100 patients, 400 implants installed them in the same day to install temporary dentures.
